Dear Parent/Visitor,

I hope that you will find this web site interesting, and that it will help you to have a clear picture of life at Dunsville Primary School.

If your child is to join us for the first time, we welcome you as parents and look forward to a happy and successful partnership over the coming years.

If you already have a child here, we hope you will use this site to keep up to date with what is happening in school.

We want all our children to enjoy learning and be excited by the things they do in school. Our school motto is: Working as one to achieve excellence through enjoyment.  We involve children in their own learning through setting targets and sending work home which complements their work in school.

We very much want your children to enjoy coming to school, and for them to feel self-confident, to have high self-esteem, to show respect for others and to be able to make a worthwhile contribution to the school community.

We encourage you as parents, to become involved in your child’s learning through informal and formal meetings, working in the classroom or supporting your child with homework.

We feel our school has many strengths, for instance we recently achieved the Artsmark gold award for the breadth of art experiences we offer. Similarly we achieved the Activemark award for our work in PE and games. Through our link with our partner school in Madrid, Spain, we have achieved the intermediary stage of the International Schools’ Award. Finally, many of our strengths were acknowledged in our OfSTED report (June 2007) which stated, "This good school with outstanding features has the overwhelming support of the parents."

This website will give you a glimpse of life at Dunsville but nothing beats seeing what it is really like, so I would urge you to come and meet the children and staff, if you are considering our school for your child.
